St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® is building a foundation of hope from the ground up by hosting a floor signing party on Thursday, August 10, for the Las Vegas St. Jude Dream Home® Giveaway.
At this event, sponsors, city leaders and community members who contributed to the building and furnishing of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway house will gather to write messages of hope on the house’s foundation before the flooring is installed.
This year’s sponsors include News 3, The CW Las Vegas, Element Building Company, iHeartMedia Las Vegas, Ashley HomeStore, and national sponsors Brizo, Shaw Floors, Trane and Bosch.
The home, valued at $425,000, is being built by Element Building Company and is located in the Durango and Alexander/Lone Mountain area in Las Vegas. The estimated 2,800-square-foot home features 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a spacious living room with 30 foot sliding glass doors and 14 foot ceilings. Nevada can residents reserve a $100 ticket for the chance to win the dream home and other prizes, including a family vacation to Mexico and an outdoor makeover package complete with a Viking® grill.
Proceeds from ticket sales for the 2017 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway will help St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital continue to lead the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
For 26 years, the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway has become one of the largest single-event fundraisers for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital nationwide. This is the inaugural program launch in Las Vegas.
To date, more than 425 houses have been awarded, and the program has raised more than $350 million for St. Jude. Because a majority of St. Jude funding comes from individual contributors through programs such as this, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most – saving kids regardless of their financial situation.
